gem tones

as the summer preps for its annual departure often we are left with a bleak picture of what's to come in the latter part of the year.  personally, i get rather caught up in the darkness, so much so that it completely takes over my wardrobe, resulting in many an all black ensemble, or, in my really exciting outfits, an all black ensemble with 'pops' of shades of grey and/or white.  this fall's jewel toned color palette can help with this transition, as the richness maybe takes away some of the pain of saying goodbye to warm days and hotter nights.

gucci a/w 2011 has basically killed it.  on point.  if i wore head to toe anything, it would be all of these.

wishful thinking.

fall/winter 2010/11.  crashed into me like a mac truck, and ended not poorly.  in fact, i'm in entirely wonderful spirits, but i was experiencing blog-block.  like writer's block, perhaps.  but i'm incredibly more inspired, excited, and awake now, and i am desperate for summer to come.  to lie in the park, fan my face, drink summer cocktails, run into the surf, walk my doggy in the parks, cut shorts so short, replace shirt tops with bikini tops.  all this and more is what i am wishing for as of now.

grey.

and.....we're back.  as the leaves are in the middle of changing (when did they even start, anyway?  i just looked outside one day and bam.  things they were a changin) i'm feeling grey...but not in a bad way.  grey is so dreamy to me.  i love a morning covered in a grey fog, sort of how it was when i walked out the door this morning.
